KURUWARI
The Kuruwari, a group of semi-nomadic hunters, reside in the hills behind the Sepik River. These hills also serve as the meeting point of the Enga mountains and the Arafundi and Kuruwari river tributaries. The Kuruwari people are known for being among the most isolated communities in the world and have taken on the responsibility of protecting the Southern Hemisphere's largest cave art complex, as well as the surrounding rainforest.
