ELIMBARI

The Elimbari people reside in the Simbu district, high in the inland region of New Guinea Island. Initially, Europeans were skeptical about the possibility of anyone living in such a harsh and unwelcoming environment. Isolated from the modern world for centuries, the Elimbari have maintained their belief in the power of nature. Recent discoveries have shown that their land, situated at an altitude of over 1600 meters, is highly fertile as a result of nearby volcanic eruptions. Furthermore, the unique climate provides ideal conditions for growing coffee plants. Unfortunately, many entrepreneurs from Europe and Australia are now interested in developing coffee plantations, regardless of the potential impact on the existing nature and Elimbari culture.
