Quieting People
Creating authentic art is simpler than I thought.
It begins with ignoring what others think. Doing the work consistently. Staying humble.
Staying curious. And above all—being patient.
I’ve made all kinds of mistakes in my photography.
But the biggest? Listening too much. Listening to what people liked or disliked about my work—or others’.
That noise crept in. It shifted my focus from the journey to the outcome.
It took time to realise what I had lost.
So, I made a conscious choice: To turn the volume down on the world. To stop measuring meaning through likes, comments, or shares.
They are not truth. They are distractions.
I want to create because I love creating. Not to feed the ego, not to win applause.
The moments I feel alive behind the lens are the moments when I feel at peace inside. And when I deter desire, I get closer to freedom.
NOTE TO SELF:
To restrain desire is to return to stillness. And in stillness, the heart is free.
