Sreet Photography with Galaxy S21 Ultra

Bucharest, 2019

Today I am taking Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra to the streets of Bucharest. It is a loan phone, and I will have exactly 1 hour with it. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Background Story

In April 2009, I joined the Samsung Global Marketing team in Korea. One of the first projects I received was to define a category name for all smartphones powered by Android OS. This led to the birth of **GALAXY**.

Consequently, I got the opportunity to work on the first model for its global launch. Samsung Galaxy GT-i7500 was a good phone with a mediocre camera. And many had doubts about the commercial success of the entire Galaxy franchise.

Fast-forward, today Samsung Galaxy is the most used camera in the world.

It is fascinating how smartphone cameras evolved in the past 10+ years.

Conclusion

Normally I will convert the pictures to B/W as this is more suitable for street photography in my taste. However, I wanted to show the colors and the ability to capture dynamic range. Using Galaxy S21 Ultra for street photography is really fun. The focus is fast even in challenging light conditions. To prevent camera shake and to minimize the need for OIS, I’ve used the hardware buttons. And it really works.

Oftentimes people wonder and ask what is the best camera?! Regardless of the budget, the answer is straightforward.

The best camera is the one that is with you

So, if you are into street photography you should pay more attention to what phone you are using…just a thought.
