Solitude In Beglika
A snippet from my log book
The alarm of my watch announces it is 5:30 am. I have about 10min time to set up my camera to photograph the sunrise above Beglika lake (Bulgaria).
However, I am far more impressed with how nature wakes up.
I meet Genata (a good friend of mine with whom we did mountain guide training) who is camping ~2km from my spot.
Have to hike with my backpack for about 4km till I reach the main road. My notion is to return to my grandmother's home by hitchhiking. It takes me 15 minutes to find “my car”. The driver is not talkative in the morning, and he drops me near Batak Dam.
While in the car, my father gives me a call. He was on his way with my brother-in-law to pick me up.
Launch with grandmother and the family.
In the afternoon we return to Sofia with mom & dad. He is driving a 23-year-old Renault which overheats each time when on the road. We travel with the heating turned on to the max and windows open... on a hot August day.
I enjoy this experience (the car ride) immensely!
